When and in what areas is veterinary oncology applied?
1. When a tumor is suspected based on clinical signs such as abnormal lumps, wounds that do not heal, weight loss, or lethargy.
2. When positive diagnostic results are obtained, e.g., biopsy, ultrasound, or X-ray, confirming the presence of a tumor.
3. In cases where systemic disease control is necessary (e.g., prevention or treatment of metastases).
1. Soft tissue oncology – tumors of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles, or other connective tissues.
2. Bone oncology – diagnosis and treatment of osteosarcoma and other bone tumors.
3. Breast oncology – tumors of the mammary glands, most commonly found in older unspayed females.
4. Gastrointestinal oncology – tumors of the esophagus, stomach, or intestines.
5. Hematological oncology – diseases of the blood and lymphatic system, such as lymphoma or leukemia.
6. Head and neck oncology – tumors affecting the oral cavity, nasal cavity, or throat.

What determines the cost of veterinary oncology procedures?
To find out the exact prices of oncological treatment, we recommend contacting the Begemotas veterinary clinic, where you can get more detailed information about the prices of the services provided during a consultation with a veterinary oncologist.
The price is increased by advanced tests, such as biopsies, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Benign tumors are often treated more quickly, while malignant tumors require more interventions and complex therapies, which increase treatment costs.
The cost of surgical tumor removal varies depending on the location of the tumor, the complexity of the operation, and the equipment used.
Chemotherapy costs vary depending on the type of medication and duration of treatment.
Larger animals require higher doses of medication, anesthetics, and other resources. After procedures or surgeries, additional hospitalization, antibiotics, pain control medications, and additional tests are calculated and added on an individual basis.
