Conducted tests

X-ray examination is a quick, effective, and painless examination that helps diagnose and assess various diseases of the lungs, heart, and blood vessels, as well as the condition of bones and joints, and monitor healing processes after bone fractures or dislocations. During the examination, the body is exposed to a very low dose of ionizing radiation, but modern technology allows for maximum reduction of exposure and high-quality results.

X-ray examinations

  • Chest X-ray
  • Abdominal X-ray
  • Bone and joint X-ray
  • Dental and oral X-ray

X-rays used in veterinary dentistry allow for a detailed view of the structure of teeth, jaw bones, and surrounding tissues, which helps to accurately diagnose problems such as tooth root inflammation, caries, or bone loss.

  • This examination is quick and non-invasive, so it is often used as part of a routine dental check-up.
  • Due to the extremely low dose of X-ray radiation, this method is safe for both humans and animals.

An echoscopic (ultrasound) examination is a non-invasive and highly informative examination during which a veterinary specialist can observe structural changes in tissues. Echoscopy is performed to diagnose diseases of the heart and blood vessels, thyroid gland, abdominal organs: liver, adrenal glands, intestines, stomach, kidneys and bladder, and pelvic organs.

Echoscopic (ultrasound) examinations

  • Echoscopy of the chest organs
  • Echoscopy of the abdominal organs
  • Echoscopy of the joints

An endoscopic examination is an internal examination of internal organs using a device designed for this purpose – an endoscope. During the examination, the veterinarian examines and assesses the condition of the organ and its mucous membrane. Endoscopic examinations of the digestive tract organs are characterized by a diagnostic accuracy of 98–100%.

  • Bronchoscopy – endoscopic examination of the throat, trachea, and bronchi
  • Gastroscopy – endoscopic examination of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum
  • Colonoscopy – endoscopic examination of the rectum
  • Otoscopy – endoscopic examination of the ear canal

Cost of visual diagnostics

The cost of diagnostic imaging (radiography, echoscopy, and endoscopy) in veterinary medicine depends on several key factors

01.Type of study

Radiography, echoscopy, and endoscopy require different equipment and technologies. X-ray examinations are often cheaper due to simpler equipment and a faster process, while echoscopy (ultrasound examination) or endoscopy can be more expensive because they require more complex technology and specialised knowledge. Endoscopy, used to examine internal organs, is one of the most expensive examinations because it requires special equipment and more time for the procedure.

02.Technological level and modernity of equipment

The latest technologies, which provide more accurate results, often increase the cost of testing. The higher the qualifications of specialists and the greater the investment in modern equipment, the higher the cost of diagnostics may be.

03.Additional costs and services

Consultations with a veterinarian, interpretation of results, and planning of further treatment. Sedation and other medications used during the examination are also charged additionally.
