Emergency veterinary care

For four-legged patients, veterinarians at the Begemotas veterinary clinic provide and organize essential (first and/or emergency) veterinary medical care in accordance with their competence. The scope and categories of essential care are determined by the veterinarian who examines the pet.

Emergency veterinary care is care that is necessary when an animal’s life is in danger or there is a real threat of losing a pet if care is not provided within a short period of time. Emergency veterinary care is provided to dogs, cats, rodents, and other domestic animals.

First, efforts are made to stabilize the animal’s condition and normalize its vital functions. Then, detailed tests are performed to determine the cause of the threat to the pet’s life.

Cost of medical assistance

The exact price can only be determined after assessing the specific case and the services required. The cost of emergency veterinary care may depend on several factors:

01.The seriousness of the animal's condition

The more serious the animal's condition, the more expensive the treatment may be. For example, complex surgeries, intensive care, or life-saving procedures are usually more expensive than simple examinations or treatments.

02.Type of procedures performed

The type and complexity of procedures can vary greatly, ranging from simple X-rays or blood tests to surgical operations or long-term hospitalisation. Each procedure has its own price.

03.Additional tests and medications

If additional diagnostic tests (e.g., ultrasound, endoscopy) or special medications are required during emergency care, these services may increase the total cost of treatment.

04.Hospitalization and care

If an animal needs to stay at the clinic for a longer period of observation or treatment, this can significantly increase the overall cost of treatment.
