NexGard Spectra for dogs is not suitable for use before annual vaccinations—it does not contain all the active ingredients that target internal parasites, so an additional treatment will be needed before vaccination. In this case, NexGard Combo is suitable for cats—it fully treats both internal and external parasites, so you can prepare for vaccinations in one step.
NexGard Spectra for dogs comes in different formulations with different spectra of activity. The most important difference is whether it can be used before vaccination.
From 8 weeks of age, dose based on weight Treats flea and tick infestations for up to 4 weeks, as well as infections caused by gastrointestinal nematodes (roundworms, hookworms), demodicosis, and sarcoptic mange. When used regularly, it helps prevent heartworm disease.
If the animal vomited within a few hours, you may need to give the medication again. If it was later than that, the active ingredient has usually already been absorbed. In such cases, always consult your veterinarian.
The medication takes full effect within 24 hours of administration.
The tablets intended for dogs are not suitable for use before annual vaccinations — you will need an additional treatment for internal parasites.
The tablets should not be used in puppies younger than 8 weeks of age, or in cases of allergy or sensitivity to the active ingredient.
