NexGard comes in four tablet strengths according to body weight: 2–4 kg, over 4–10 kg, over 10–25 kg and over 25–50 kg. These correspond to 11.3 mg, 28.3 mg, 68 mg and 136 mg of afoxolaner, respectively.

Important when using:

The medication works when the active ingredient enters the dog’s bloodstream through the digestive tract — the parasites die once they have attached themselves and begun feeding.
Whether NexGard is suitable depends on the dog’s age, weight and health. For puppies under 8 weeks and/or dogs under 2 kg, treatment should only be considered after an individual veterinarian assessment.
Reported adverse reactions include gastrointestinal effects such as vomiting or diarrhoea, as well as itching, lethargy, reduced appetite and neurological signs. These have been reported very rarely in the European product information.
If you notice an unusual reaction after giving the tablet, contact your veterinarian.
NexGard should not be used in dogs with known hypersensitivity to afoxolaner or any of the other ingredients. Other individual health factors should be discussed with your veterinarian before treatment.
